Welcome to the Green Weekend 2024!

Welcome to the home page for the Greening Chiddingly Green Weekend 2024. Events are taking place across the weekend of 6th/7th July. Read on to find out what's happening where.

On Saturday 6th July, we will be hosting a Green Jamboree from 10am-2pm at Chiddingly Village Shop in Muddles Green. Expect fun and educational activities for adults and children, plus inspiring ideas for building a greener future. From 11am-2pm on Sunday 7th July, we will be teaming up with our friends at the Gun Brewery & Taproom in Gun Hill for a Sunday Market. This is a chance to meet and buy from local food- and craft-makers, and enjoy a locally-brewed beer.

Green Jamboree: Saturday 6th July

The Green Jamboree takes place from 10am-2pm on Saturday 6th July at Chiddingly Village Shop, Muddles Green, BN8 6HW. There will be a range of activities for all the family. You can try your hand at eco crafts, including spinning, weaving, print-making and willow work. For younger visitors, there will be children's entertainment and the chance to build your own bug hotel and make wildflower seed bombs. If you are looking for ideas about how to live greener, you can visit the 'Create the Future Roadshow' for energy advice from OVESCO and tips on eating locally and seasonally.

Saturday 6 July is National Meadows Day. To celebrate, we have organised a Guided Nature Walk through our own public meadow, the Jubilee Field in Muddles Green. The walk will start from the Village Shop at midday, last around 30-40 minutes, and is suitable for all ages. You can also find out more about the various nature restoration projects taking placee around the village.

Sunday Market: Sunday 7th July

On Sunday 7th July we are co-hosting a Sunday Market from 11am-2pm at the Gun Brewery & Taproom, Gun Hill, TN21 0JW. This is your chance to meet and buy from local food- and craft-makers in the main brewery building, and enjoy a bite to eat and a pint of award-winning beer in the taproom afterwards.

Stalls confirmed so far include: Gigglebox Treats; The Traditional Cheese Company; Vive La Vida Eco; Debbie Bowler Ceramics; LAM, Murph's Market Garden, John Ockenden Woodcraft, and Starz Boutique.

The main venue for the Green Jamboree (10am-2pm, Saturday 6 July) is Chiddingly Village Shop, Muddles Green, BN8 6HW. The Guided Nature Walk around Jubilee Field will depart from here.

The Sunday Market (11am-2pm, Sunday 7 July) will take place at the Gun Brewery & Taproom, Hawthbush Farm, Gun Hill, TN21 0JX. Use the location on Google maps rather than putting the postcode into your Sat Nav - it will lead you down the wrong track!

Accessibility and Parking

Both the Village Shop and Gun Brewery & Taproom are wheelchair accessible and have accessible toilet facilities. Parking is available at both venues - see the Google Map above. Entry to events is free, but some of the stalls will request a small donation if you participate in activities.
