Welcome to the Green Weekend 2025!
Welcome to the home page for the Greening Chiddingly Green Weekend 2025, our free annual festival of sustainable living. Events are taking place across the day on Saturday 12th July. From 10:30-14:00, we will be holding our annual Green Jamboree at Farley's Yard in Muddles Green. Expect fun and educational activities for adults and children, plus inspiring ideas for building a greener future. From 14:00-17:00, you can visit Open Farms around the parish to hear about our various nature restoration projects (see our Restoring Nature page). We are delighted that this year's event is sponsored by OHM Energy, an East Sussex-based supplier of sustainable solutions for heating and powering your home and business.
Green JamboreeThe highlight of the weekend is the Green Jamboree. This takes place from 10:30-14:00 at Farley's Yard, Muddles Green, BN8 6HW (what3words: ///prospers.diamond.widen).
There will be a range of activities for all the family. You can try your hand at eco crafts, including spinning, weaving and eco print-making, and meet local producers and makers. You can also take part in our Community Weave, a community arts project that will be exhibited as part of Artwave 2025 in September. Younger visitors (and the young at heart) can try their hand at clay modelling, and making bird feeders and wildflower seed bombs. If you are looking for ideas about how to live more sustainably, you can visit our special OVESCO stall for energy (and money) saving tips and other eco advice . We'll have stalls from local community groups including Chiddingly W.I. and Chiddingly Horticultural Society. Most importantly, our fantastic Village Shop & Cafe will be open until 14:00 for drinks and light refreshments. |
